Track Back In Action This Weekend At Indiana

CHARLESTON, Ill. - Eastern Illinois men's and women's track and field hits the road for the first time this season as the Panthers participate in the Indiana Relays on Friday and Saturday.
EIU is coming off a dominating performance in its John Craft Invite where the team posted 19 individual and relay first place finishes. Megan Gingerich and Jade Riebold both set school records at the meet. Gingerich's record was in the 600m while Riebold set the school pole vault mark.
Riebold was named the OVC Female Field Athlete of the Week based on her performance.
Zye Boey and Donald Romero were named the OVC Male Athlete award winners with strong performances at the John Craft Invite. Boey was the OVC Track Athlete of the Week with wins in the 60m and 200m sprints. Romero was the OVC Field Athlete of the Week with a win in the weight throw and third place finish in the shot put.
The EIU men enter the weekend ranked 9th in the Midwest Region by the USTFCCCA. The IU Relays feature several regionally and nationally ranked teams.
