Boey Named OVC Track Athlete Of The Week

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois senior sprinter Zye Boey was named the Ohio Valley Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season following his performance at the Indiana Relays.  The EIU men's track team dropped down three spots this week as they ranked 12th in the USTFCCCA Midwest Regional rankings.

Boey swept the 60m and 200m events at the IU Relays.  His time of 6.75 in the 60m hit the USATF provisional mark.  His time of 21.07 in the 200m set the Indiana University Gladstein Fieldhouse record.  Boey and the Panthers will return to action this weekend at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite.

Despite a strong performance on the track the EIU men dropped three spots in the regional ranking as they are 12th this week.  Nebraska remains at number one followed by Minnesota, Oklahoma, Kansas State, Iowa, Illinois, Iowa State, Missouri, Southern Illinois and Kansas in the top ten.  Oklahoma State is 11th followed by EIU, Southeast Missouri, Oral Roberts and Illinois State.
