Mick Viken Places 12th At NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. - Mick Viken placed 12th at the NCAA National Championships competing on Wednesday night in the pole vault as Eastern Illinois opened up competition at Oregon's Hayward Field.

Viken matched his career best vault height of 17'8.50 as he placed 12th for the second straight year at the National Championships. 

The event was won by Sam Kendricks of Mississippi who cleared 18'8.25".

Jade Riebold will represent the EIU women in the pole vault on Friday evening.  She placed second this year at the NCAA Indoor National Championships.
