Riebold, Viken Earn Track All-American Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Eastern Illinois junior pole vaulters Jade Riebold and Mick Viken have both been named 2013 Outdoor Track & Field All-Americans as announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday afternoon. Honors are awarded for performances at the final site of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships occurring this past week in Eugene, Oregon.
Riebold earned first team All-American honors after placing third in the pole vault with a height of 14'5.25”. It marks the second All-American honor this season for Riebold who was the national runner up in the pole vault during the indoor season. Riebold will compete at the US National Championships in the coming weeks. Her point scoring performance placed EIU 39th in the final women's standings at the NCAA Championships.
Viken was a second team All-American honoree after placing 12th in the pole vault. Viken cleared 17'8.50” as he earned his second All-American honor this season. He was a second team selection during the indoor season.
