Edwards Named OVC Track Championship MVP

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Eastern Illinois freshman sprinter Calvin Edwards was named the Ohio Valley Conference Male Athlete MVP of the Indoor Championships on Tuesday as voted on by the league's coaches.  Edwards help the Panthers capture their fifth straight OVC Indoor title.

Edwards was the gold medalist in two sprint events winning the 200m and 400m at the championships.  He won the 200m with a time of 21.90.  His winning time in the 400m was 48.71.  Edwards then ran as a member of the 4x400 relay team that placed second.
