Viken Sets Pole Vault Record At Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Eastern Illinois had four track & field athletes compete at the Arkansas NCAA Last Chance Meet on Friday while another athlete competed at the Friday night session of the Notre Dame NCAA Last Chance.
Mick Viken placed second in the men's pole vault as he broke his own school record by two inches. Viken cleared 17'10.50” and finished in second based on number of attempts.
Jade Riebold was the second place finisher in the women's pole vault as she cleared 13'6.50”.
In the 60m hurdles both Dominique Hall and Jalisa Paramore finished fifth in the finals. Hall was fifth in the men's final with a time of 8.14. Paramore was fifth in the women's final at 8.67.
At Notre Dame, Pablo Ramirez placed 12th in the men's 5K event. His time of 14:24.76 lands at eighth on the EIU career list.
Three athletes – Bryce Basting, Sean Wiggan and Britney Whitehead will compete on Saturday in the men's and women's 800m races at Notre Dame.
