Men's Cross Country 22nd At Louisville Elite

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Eastern Illinois men's cross country competed in the GOLD Division of the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday morning as the Panther men placed 22nd out of 31 schools in the elite level race. Nationally ranked Iona won the men's GOLD Division race.
The EIU women placed 5th in the Blue Division race as senior Britney Whitehead posted the 9th best time in EIU history at the 5K distance with a time of 18:03.84 as she finished 9th overall.
Sophomore Bryce Basting led the EIU men's group with a 66th place finish. He ran the 8K course with a time of 24:54.07. Pablo Ramirez was 77th in the race with a time of 25:02.91.
Danny Delaney, Matt Black, Mike Hesslau and Max Gassmann rounded out the EIU competitors in the GOLD Division race. Delaney placed 125th with a time of 25:29.75. Black was 155th with a time of 25:50.46. Hesslau was 232nd at 27:03.70 and Gassmann was 241st with a time of 27:25.56.
Olivia Klaus was 21st for the EIU women with a 5K time of 18:23.70. Erika Ramos was 46th with a time of 18:47.87. Stephanie Peisker and Elizabeth Dole rounded out the top five runners for the EIU women. Peisker was 56th with a time of 18:54.15 while Dole was 108th at 19:20.32.
