Flanagan Wins Ovc Women's Track Award

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois sophomore Avani Flanagan was named the Ohio Valley Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week following her performance last week at the Illini Twilight.

Flanagan ran the steeplechase for the first time this season and finished third in the event.  Her time of 11:16.58 is the second fastest in the OVC this season and ranks as the 10th best time in EIU history. 
 
It marks the second time an EIU athlete has won an OVC Weekly Track Award this outdoor season with Joe Smith winning Male Field Athlete of the Week honors two weeks ago.
 
EIU will send a small contingent of athletes to compete this weekend at the Mt. SAC Relays
