CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois track and field will host the Tuesday Tweener meet on April 22 as the Panthers will provide a midweek meet for those athletes not selected to compete at the Drake Relays this weekend.
Throwing events will begin in the early afternoon with field events inside O'Brien Field set to begin at 4 p.m. with the pole vault. The first running event on the track is set for 5 p.m. with the hurdles.
EIU is coming off a solid performance at the SIUE Gateway Invite over the weekend. The Panther women won the event while the EIU men placed second. EIU posted five first place finishes with 17 total medals at the meet.
Senior Peter Geraghty tied the EIU school record winning the pole vault with a height of 18'0.50".
Kristen Paris won the women's 800m race posting the sixth best time in school history at 2:10.69.
Ruth Garippo won the women's steeplechase with a time of 11:29.54 which ranks 8th all-time at the school.
Mike Hesslau won the men's 1500m race turning in a first place effort on the track.
