Track Posts Two First Place Finishes

Calvin Edwards and Mick Viken led the Panther men with each picking up a first place finish covering both track and field events.
Edwards won the 200m dash for the third straight week beating a solid field. Edwards won the event with a time of 21.21 which ranks as the fourth best time in school history.
Viken won the men's pole vault clearing a height of 16'4.75". It marked the first time this season that Viken has not cleared 17' in a meet. Teammate Eric Gordon was third in the pole vault with a height of 15'5".
Freshman Johnathan Boey placed fourth in the men's 60m dash with a finals time of 6.83.
Pablo Ramirez and William Roth both posted seventh place finishes in the men's 3000m race with Ramirez running in the elite Ryan Shay 3K. Ramirez posted a time of 8:10.71 which ranks third best on the EIU career charts. Roth was seventh in the open 3K with a time of 8:40.78.
Riley Kittridge and Kendall Williams wrapped up the men's top ten finishes on Saturday. Kittridge was eighth in the shot put with a mark of 53'4.50". Williams placed ninth in the triple jump at 45'10.50".
On the women's side Jade Riebold placed second in the women's pole vault invite with a height of 13'9.25". Riebold was edged for the gold medal on number of attempts.
The women's distance medley relay team posted a ninth place finish with a time of 12:18.54. The team consisted of Julie James, Ashley Fouch, Dhiaa Dean and Kristen Rohrer.
On Friday the Panthers had solid performances from Annemarie Reid and Jalisa Paramore. Reid was fifth in the open pole vault clearing 12'1.50". Paramore was sixth in the long jump with a mark of 19'4.75".
On Friday the EIU men placed fourth in the DMR with a time of 10:13.60. The team consisted of Bryce Basting, Edwards, Ryan Ballard and Riley McInerney. David Johanssonplaced sixth in the men's weight throw with a mark of 58'10."
