Good Opening Day For Track At Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Eastern Illinois track and field had a good opening day at the 2014 Notre Dame Meyo Invite. The Panthers will wrap up action at the meet on Saturday.
Annemarie Reid had the best individual finish for the Panthers as she placed fifth in the pole vault clearing 12'1.50"
The top overall finish for EIU was in the men's distance medley relay where the Panthers placed fourth with a time of 10:13.60. The DMR team included Bryce Basting, Calvin Edwards, Ryan Ballard and Riley McInerney.
David Johansson and Jalisa Paramore both posted sixth place finishes in field events with their efforts landing in the EIU career top ten. Johansson had a weight throw mark of 58'10" which ranks as the sixth best distance in school history. Paramore had a long jump mark of 19'4.75" which ranks fourth on the EIU all-time list.
Johnathan Boey was sixth in the 60m semifinals with a time of 6.87 as he advanced to Saturday's final.
