Klaus Named OVC Runner Of The Week

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Redshirt freshman Olivia Klaus was named the Ohio Valley Conference Cross Country Female Runner of the Week following her performance at the Lucian Rosa Invitational over the weekend in Kenosha, Wis. This marks the second time this season that Klaus has won the OVC weekly award. 

Klaus placed 6th overall at the 20 team event and was third among scored individuals as the Panthers placed 4th as a team. Klaus covered the 5K distance in a time of 18:33.6 which was her fastest time of the season. It was the ninth fastest time posted in the Ohio Valley Conference this season and second best effort by a Panthers runner this year. 

Eastern Illinois will return to action this Saturday at the Evansville Invite. The event will serve as a precursor to the OVC Championships on Oct. 31 as six of the ten OVC women’s teams will be in action.
