Track Posts Nine First Place Finishes At Miami

MIAMI, Ohio - Eastern Illinois men's and women's track posted nine first place finishes on Saturday afternoon as the Panthers wrapped up competition at the Miami of Ohio Invite.

EIU placed third in both the men's and women's meet in team scoring.

EIU swept first place finishes in the men's and women's pole vault.  Abigail Schmitz won the women's event with a height of 12'8".  Mick Viken was the men's winner clearing 17'0.75".

David Johansson won the men's javelin for the second consecutive week with a throw of 191'9".

On the track senior Britney Whitehead won the women's 1,500m run with a time of 4:29.45.  She was also the second place finishes in the 800m run with a time of 2:11.31.

Kaleel Johnson led a 1,2 EIU finish in the 100m dash with Steven Clark placing second.  Johnson had a time of 10.79.  Clark was in at 11.00.

Bryce Basting won the men's 800m run with a time of 1:52.03.

EIU won both the short and long men's hurdle events. Dominique Hall won the 110m hurdles at 14.39.  Daniel Trevor won the 400m hurdles at 52.79.

Calvin Edwards rounded out the Panther first place finishers with a 200m victory.  His winning time was 21.81.
