Edwards, Riebold Win OVC Weekly Track Awards

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois track and field picked up a pair of weekly awards as schools competed in the final regular season meets of the year. Calvin Edwards was named the Male Track Athlete of the Week while Jade Riebold was named the Female Field Athlete of the Week. EIU will host the OVC Indoor Track and Field Championships this Friday & Saturday at Lantz Fieldhouse.
Edwards won the 200m dash for the second straight week as he placed first at the EIU Friday Night Special. Edwards posted a winning time of 21.93, his third sub-22 second mark this season. Edwards would also place sixth in the 60m dash. The freshman currently ranks first in the OVC in the 200m.
Riebold won the pole vault as she matched her own school record winning the event at the EIU Friday Night Special. Riebold cleared 13'11, a record height she set last season. The junior is currently 8th in the nation in the pole vault.
