Three Meet Records Fall On Friday At Big Blue

CHARLESTON, Ill. - Three meet records fell on Friday night at the Eastern Illinois Big Blue Classic including a first place finish by the Panther women in the 4x800 relay.  The home meet for EIU will continue on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at O'Brien Field.

The women's 4x800 team was comprised of Paige Biehler, Megan Gingerich, Erika Ramosand Bridget Sanchez winning with a meet record time of 9:02.47.

EIU added three individual top five finishes at the meet and added a pair of second place finishes in the men's and women's 4x400 meter shuttle relay as Friday events were held under the lights.

Graham Morris placed second in the men's 5K with a time of 14:37.63.

Dominique Hall placed fourth in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 53.99.

Donald Romero placed fourth in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 190'08".

Brittany Smith from Illinois State set the Big Blue Classic in the women's hammer with a throw of 209'04".  Cody Wisstead running unattached set the 400m men's hurdle record for the Big Blue Classic with a winning time of 51.03.
