Track Hosts Friday Night Special

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois men's and women's track and field will have one final tune up for the 2012 Ohio Valley Conference Championships when they host the EIU Friday Night Special this Friday in Lantz Fieldhouse. Competition begins at 2 p.m. with the weight throw. Running events begin at 3 p.m. with the 5K.
The meet will include several junior colleges along with teams from Arkansas State, Butler, Illinois, Indiana State, Indianapolis, Southern Illinois and Southern Indiana.
EIU's next competition will be the OVC Indoor Championships on Feb. 24-25 at Tennessee State. Two athletes are coming off OVC Athlete of the Week performances at the Grand Valley Big Meet. Megan Gingerich was named the OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week whileBryce Hogan was named the OVC Male Field Athlete of the Week.
