More Top Ten Finishes At the GVSU Big Meet
Saturday, February 11 2012 - Grand Valley State InviteALLENDALE, Mich. – On the open day of competition at the Grand Valley State Big Meet, Eastern Illinois men's and women's indoor track and field turned in 13 top ten performances including a win by Emily Quinones in the 200m.
Quinones picked up the 200m win with a time of 25.06. Jalisa Paramore and Klaudia Susulcrossed just after each other in the 60m dash. Paramore was fifth at 7.86 with Susul just behind at 7.87.
In the men's 200m dash Kaleel Johnson and Stefan Gorol finished right after each other. Johnson was fifth at 22.34 followed by Gorol at 22.37.
Other men's top ten finishers on the track included Ephraim Dorsey, Matt Black and men's distance medley relay team. Dorsey was fourth in the 400m at 49.52. Black was third in the 3K at 8:36.46. The DMR was second at 9:57.34 and included Bryce Basting, Sean Wiggan, Dorsey and Graham Morris.
The EIU women had three other top ten finishers on the track. Olivia Klaus was third in the mile at 5:04.19. Justine Moore and Jill MacEachen were second and third in the 60m hurdles. Moore crossed at 8.87 with MacEachen posting a time of 9.05.
In field events Jaimee Roy was third in the long jump at 18'2.25”. Donald Romero was sixth in the shot put at 50'11”.
EIU returns to action next Friday hosting the EIU Friday Night Special at Lantz Field House.
