Cross Country Releases 2011 Schedule

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois cross country coach Erin Howarth has released the Panthers 2011 schedule which will begin in late August with the first of two home meets. The Panthers will host the Peace To Meece 5K which serves as a season opener and EIU alumni meet on August 27. The first regular season action for EIU is on Sept. 9 when they host the EIU Walt Crawford Open. Both home meets will take place on the EIU Panther Trail on the Charleston campus.

The road portion of the EIU schedule begins on Sept. 16 at the Illinois Intercollegiate hosted by Illinois State. EIU rounds out the month of September on the 30th at the Notre Dame Invite. The final regular season meet is on Oct. 14 at the Bradley Classic.

This year's Ohio Valley Conference Championship meet will take place on Saturday, Oct. 29 in Richmond, Ky. This year's NCAA Midwest Regional will be hosted by Northern Illinois on Nov. 12. 

The Panthers placed second in the OVC Women's Meet last year with five runners earning All-OVC honors.
