Women's Cross Country Signs All-State Runner

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Fresh off a solid finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional, Eastern Illinois cross country coach Erin Howarth has announced the addition of All-State runner Brianna Bower for next year's Panthers cross country and track programs.
 
Bower competes at Kaneland HS in Maple Park, Ill., where she advanced to the IHSA State Cross Country Championships all four seasons.   This past year she was the Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference Individual Champion before going on to finish ninth at the IHSA Class 2A State Meet.  Bower ran a finals time of 17:35. 
 
On the track Bower advanced to the IHSA Class 2A State Championships last spring competing in both the 3200m and 1600m runs.  Bower was fourth in the 3200m event with a time of 11:15.  She placed 12th at the state meet in the 1600m.   Entering her senior season her personal bests are 5:09 in the 1600m and 11:14 in the 3200m.
