Dorsey Nabs Weekly OVC Track Honor

Senior set several EIU Top 10 marks at last weekend's Meyo Invitational

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. -- After setting several Eastern Illinois Top 10 marks last weekend, men's standout Ephraim Dorsey secured Ohio Valley Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week honors, as announced by the league office this afternoon (Feb. 11).
 
The senior recorded three top 10 finishes at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational last week, setting a new school record mark, while finishing second overall, in the 600-Meter Run with a time of 1:18.96.

He also placed eighth with a 1:51.07 finish in the 800-Meter Run, which currently ranks first in the OVC and sixth in the EIU Top 10.

Lastly, the Glenwood, Ill. native ran the third leg of the 4x400-Meter Relay squad that set a season-best time of 3:14.12 to place ninth. Not only does that mark currently lead the OVC this season, it also ranks as the sixth best Panther finish.

The Panther men and women return to action this coming Friday (Feb. 13), traveling to Michigan to compete in the single-day Grand Valley Big Meet.
