Both Cross Country Teams 11th At Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. - Eastern Illinois men's and women's cross country both finished in 11th place in the Red Division Race on Friday afternoon at the Bradley Pink Classic at the Newman Golf Course in Peoria. The men competed at the 8K distance while the women ran a 6K.
Emily Brelsfoard paced the EIU women's team with a 28th place finish posting a 6K time of 22:01.8. The Panther women placed 11th out of 31 teams as Illinois was the team champion. Brelsfoard time was the sixth fastest in school history at the 6K distance.
Riley McInerney paced the EIU men's team with a 33rd place finish posting an 8K time of 25:26.6. The EIU men placed 11th out of 26 teams as Illinois State was the team champion.
The men's team had three runners post top 50 finishes in the field. Joe Calio and Paxson Menard joined McInerney in the group for the EIU men. Calio was 38th with a time of 25:33.6. Menard was 41st with a time of 25:35.2. Derrick Johnson and Ryan Ballard rounded out the top five EIU scored runners in the meet. Johnson was 82nd with a time of 26:02.5. Ballard was 87th with a time of 26:05.7. Mark Pedziwiatr and Lucas Nudelman completed the top seven for EIU. Pedziwiatr crossed in 148th place with a time of 26:46.4. Nudelman was just behind him in 149th with a time of 26:28.3.
On the women's side Victoria Quarton, Maria Baldwin and Julie James joined Brelsfoard in the top 100. Quarton was 51st with a time of 22:19.5. Baldwin was 64th with a time of 22:29.7 and James was 84th with a time of 22:42.9. Rachel Garippo was the fifth EIU scored runner finishing in 106th with a time of 22.58.1 Quincy Knolhoff and Ivy Handley completed the top seven for EIU. Knolhoff was 153rd with a time of 23:17.4 while Handley was 166th with a time of 23:21.3.
EIU will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 1 as they compete in the Ohio Valley Conference Championships.
