Cross Country Set For Bradley Pink Classic

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois men's and women's cross country return to action this Friday as they participate in the Bradley Pink Classic at the Newman Golf Course in Peoria. Following this meet EIU will participate in the Ohio Valley Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 1. The women's 6K race will begin at 4:25 p.m. followed by the men's 8K race at 5:05 p.m.
The EIU men are coming off a solid finish at the Louisville Classic two weeks ago in a field that consisted of 12 regionally ranked teams. During the season sophomoresPaxson Menard and Riley McInerney have consistently paced the EIU men's squad as the top two runners. McInerney posted a career best time of 25:15 at the Louisville Classic. Earlier this season in a meet in Peoria, Menard posted a career best time of 25:06.
The EIU women are coming off a solid finish at the Louisville Classic two weeks ago competing against a field that included 15 regionally ranked teams. EIU has had four feature runners during the course of the season with Victoria Quarton, Maria Baldwin and Julie James all finishing within eight seconds of each other at the Louisville Classic. Quarton posted an EIU Top 20 time in the 5K with a mark of 18:15. Emily Brelsfoard has been part of that group in all three meets this season as well.
