Riebold, Viken Win OVC Track Weekly Award

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois track athletes Mick Viken and Jade Riebold were named the Ohio Valley Conference male and female track athletes of the week covering season opening meets for the league's track and field squads.  EIU opens the spring portion of its schedule this Saturday hosting the John Craft Invite at 9 a.m.

Viken was named the Male Field Athlete of the Week as the junior won the pole vault at the EIU Early Bird meet back in December.  In the meet Viken broke his own school record in the event clearing 17'5”.  That mark currently ranks 8th in the NCAA this season.

Riebold was named the Female Field Athlete as the junior won the pole vault at the EIU Early Bird meet back in December.  In the meet Riebold cleared 13'4.50”.  The 2012 indoor All-American currently ranks 5th in the NCAA this season.
