Track Looks To Improve Season Marks At Louisville

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois track and field will head to the Louisville Twilight on Friday afternoon as the Panthers look to improve upon several marks prior to the NCAA West Regional in two weeks at the University of Texas.  Heading into the weekend EIU has 12 individuals and one relay team ranked in the top 48 in the region.

Zye Boey and Graham Morris are both ranked in the top 48 in multiple events heading into the weekend.  Boey is ranked seventh in the 100m and fourth in the 200m.  He was named the OVC Male Track Athlete of the Year last week.  Boey is also part of the men's 4x100 relay team that is ranked 18th in the region.  Morris is ranked 13th in the steeplechase and 33rd in the 1500m run.

Megan GingerichJalisa Paramore and Britney Whitehead are all ranked in the top 48 on the women's side in running events.  Gingerich is ranked 20th in the 800m.  Paramore is ranked 27th in the 100m hurdles after setting the EIU school record in the event at last week's OVC Championships.  Whitehead is ranked 20th in the steeplechase.

EIU has four athletes ranked in the region in the pole vault.  Mick Viken and Joe Noonanrepresent the men's team with Jade Riebold and Abigail Schmitz representing the women.  Viken is currently ninth in the region with Noonan ranked 28th.  Riebold is ranked fifth in the region with Schmitz ranked 43rd. 

Bryce HoganDonald Romero and Maura Cummins are all ranked in field events.  Hogan is ranked 16th in the men's long jump.  Romero is ranked 30th in the men's hammer.  Cummins is ranked 37th in the women's high jump.

Dominique Hall and Tyler Allen sit just outside the top 48 in the region in their events heading into the weekend.  Hall is ranked 50th in the men's 110m hurdles.  Allen is ranked 53rd in the men's triple jump.
