Gena is a freshman cross country and middle distance track runner at EIU... placed 62nd at 2007 OVC cross country championships... ran a personal record 5K of 20:34.00 at the EIU Panther Open... attended Charleston High School where she was a state qualifier in cross-country this fall after finishing 18th at the Centralia Sectional, her top finish ever... she was also a State qualifier in track and field three times and is primarily a middle-distance runner in track (400, 800, 1600m runs).
