Ryan Meece

Ryan was First Team All-OVC at the '97 cross country championship by placing 7th out of 66 runners...he placed fifth last spring in the 5000 run at the outdoor league championship...Ryan prepped for former ElU basehall standout Dennis Best at Coal City HS earning 10 letters in track (4), cross country (4) and baskethall (2)...he ran a leg on the school's state championship 4 x 800 relay...Ryan was three time all-state in cross country, two time all­ state in track, and four time all-conference in both track and cross Country...Coal City was tied for third in the Class A state track championship and third in the state cross country meet... Ryan was a student council member... he is a psychology major who wants to become a rehabilitation counselor...athlete he most admires is Michael Jordan...the major influence on Ryan's career has been his father because "he's also a runner"...son of Jim and Sandi Meece of Coal City.
