Ballard is in his sophomore season at Eastern Illinois University. Ryan had a successful freshman campaign for the Panthers as he was the OVC Champion in the 800 meter run. He was consistently in the top 7 for the EIU cross country team and finished his first year with an 8k personal best of 25:49.
