Men's Cross Country Cracks Regional Poll
Monday, September 12 2011 - EIU Walt Crawford OpenPanthers move into 14th in Midwest Region
NEW ORLEANS – Coming off a first place finish in the Walt Crawford EIU Open, the Eastern Illinois men's cross country team moved into the USTFCCCA Regional Top 15 on Monday morning. The Panthers cracked the Midwest Region rankings at No. 14. The Panthers return to action this Friday afternoon competing at the Illinois Intercollegiate in Normal.
Oklahoma State is ranked first in the Midwest Region followed by Oklahoma, Minnesota, Illinois, Tulsa, Iowa State, Iowa, Kansas, Drake and Nebraska in the top ten. The final five in the regional poll include Southern Illinois, South Dakota State, Loyola-Chicago, EIU and North Dakota State.
The Panthers are one of two Ohio Valley Conference schools ranked in regional polls. Eastern Kentucky is fifth in the Southeast Region this week.
