More Top Ten Finishes Come Saturday At Iowa State

AMES, Iowa. – Eastern Illinois wrapped up its final road track meet of the indoor season on Saturday competing at the Iowa State Classic. Several Panthers turned in top ten finishes as EIU returns to action on Feb. 18 hosting the EIU Friday Night Special at Lantz Fieldhouse.
On Friday night Tyler Carter and Lamarr Pottinger both advanced to the finals in the 60m hurdles. On Saturday Carter turned in a 9th place finish crossing in 8.12. Pottinger was 14th at 8.26.
Graham Morris placed 8th in the non-seeded mile with a time of 4:18.22 while Chad Aubinwas 9th in the non-seeded 800m at 1:54.84.
In the seeded 800m run Erika Ramos placed 14th in the women’s event with a time of 2:13.01.Wes Sheldon was 13th in the men’s seeded 800m race at 1:52.30.
Queenie Adeboyejo turned in a solid effort in the triple jump placing fifth with a distance of 38’7.50”. Tyler Allen placed 8th for the EIU men in the triple jump with a mark of 46'3.25".
Darren Patterson placed 10th in the seeded 400m run with a time of 47.89. Bridget Sanchezwas 15th in the women’s seeded 400m with a time of 56.38.
Scott Mammoser had the highest finish for EIU competing in the non-seeded pole vault. He cleared 16’2.75” to place third. Competing in the seeded pole vault Mick Viken placed 7th with a height of 16’8.75”.
Jacob Mitchell advanced to the 60m finals on Friday night and on Saturday he placed 10th with a time of 6.87.
EIU men's 4x400 placed 5th with a time of 3:13.15. The relay team consisted of Cody Boarman, Patterson, Preston Smith and Patrick Tortorici.
EIU women's 4x400 relay team placed 23rd with a time of 3:53.86.
Competing in the Tyson Invitational on Saturday afternoon, junior Zye Boey placed fifth in the 200m competing against a field of some of the nation’s top runners. Boey crossed at 20.97.
