Four First Place Finishes For EIU Track

Haleigh Knapp won the women's high jump clearing 5'8". The mark ranks fifth on the EIU career list.
Riley McInerney was first in the men's steeplechase with a time of 9:07.66. Jamal Robinson placed first in the men's 100m dash with a time of 10.60.
The Panthers swept the podium in the women's steeplechase with Rachel Garippo winning the event with a time of 11:20.71 which ranks ninth on the EIU career list. Quincy Knolhoff was second at 11:35.14 and Caroline Collet won the bronze with a time of 12:15.81.
Anita Saffa posted two second place finishes with both of her times ranking in the EIU career top ten. Saffa was second in the 100m with a time of 12.00. She was second in the 200m with a time of 24.51. Both times rank eighth on the EIU career list. Saffa also ran the opening leg on the 4x100m relay team that placed second. Saffa was joined on the relay squad by Briana Walker, Darneisha Spann and Angelica Anyaogu.
Brion Portis was second in the women's triple jump. Her mark of 37'8.75" ranks tenth on the EIU career list. Three other EIU women placed second in events with Anyaogu second in the long jump at 17'9". Dhiaa Dean was second in the 800m with a time of 2:13.81. Amina Jackson was second in the 400m hurdles at 1:01.77.
The EIU men had four individuals post second place finishes. Eric Gordon was second in the pole vault clearing 15'9.25". Chrisford Stevens was second in the triple jump covering 45'9". Mark Pedziwiatr was second in the 800m with a time of 1:55.16. JaMarcus Townsend was second in the 200m with a time of 21.77.
Both of the Panthers men's relay teams finished in second place. The 4x100m relay team had a time of 41.26 with Zach Booth, Calvin Edwards, Robinson and Christian Ilunga-Matthiesen running the relay. The 4x400m relay had a time of 3:17.28 with Michael Miller, Lars Ott, Townsend and Edwards running the relay.
EIU returns to action at home next weekend hosting the Big Blue Classic and Neil Moore Multis.
