Women's Track Adds All-State Thrower

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's track and field has signed an All-State thrower from Alabama as Kaitlyn Ebert is set to join the Panthers roster next season.  Ebert competes at Foley High School.
 
Ebert wrapped up her high school career last weekend earning Alabama Class 7A All-State honors in the javelin and discus.  She also advanced to the State Championships in the shot put.  She was third in the javelin with a finals mark of 114'4".  Ebert placed fifth in the discus with a finals throw of 105'8".  Her season best in the discus was 112'5".  During her prep career she won six Baldwin County titles including winning all three throws events at the 2015 County Meet.  She was the Sectional Champion in the javelin and discus as a senior.  In the class room she holds a 3.96 GPA and received a Presidential Scholarship.
 
EIU will host the EIU Twilight Meet this weekend before heading to the 2015 OVC Championships on May 15-16.  The EIU women won this year's OVC Indoor Track Championship.
