Men's Cross Country 3rd At OVC Championships

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - Junior Bradley LaRocque earned first team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors on Saturday morning as the Eastern Illinois men placed 3rd at the 2010 OVC Cross Country Championships in Cookeville, Tenn.
LaRocque covered the 8K course in a time of 25:44.87 as he placed 7th in the event to lead the Panthers runners. Soufiane Bouchikhi of Eastern Kentucky won individual honors with a time of 24:56.73.
EKU won the men's title with 15 points as Colonels runners placed in the top five spots. Southeast Missouri was second with 55 points while EIU was third with 95. Morehead State was fourth with 108 points.
Connor Kustief, Matt Dettloff and Wes Sheldon also turned in top 25 finishes for the Panthers. Kustief was 19th at 26:43.03, Dettloff was 21st at 26:49.37 while Sheldon was 25th at 26:55.55.
Matt Feldhake was just behind that group of runners in 27th place at 27:03.83 while Danny Delaney was 32nd in 27:23.75.
Ryan Ballard and Jason Springer rounded out the EIU runners in the meet. Ballard was 39th at 28:03.67 while Springer crossed in 58th at 29:54.60.
EIU will return to action on Nov. 13 at the NCAA Regional in Peoria.
