BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois pole vaulter Peter Geraghty was named the Ohio Valley Conference Male Field Athlete of the Week after his strong performance at the Illini Classic last weekend.

Geraghty, a transfer from North Central College, picked up the lone first place finish for Eastern Illinois over the weekend as the became the third EIU men's pole vaulter to clear the 17'' mark for their career.  He won the event with a height of 17'6.50" which ranks second on the EIU career list.  It is the top mark in the OVC this year and ranks 23rd in the NCAA this season.

EIU returns to action this weekend hosting the John Craft Invite on Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. in Lantz Fieldhouse.
