Butler Wins 10,000 At Lee Calhoun Memorial

MACOMB, Ill. - Eastern Illinois senior Brad Butler won the 10,000 meter run on Friday evening during a limited schedule at the 20th annual Lee Calhoun Memorial hosted by Western Illinois.

Butler won the event with a time of 31.58.32 with teammates Ryan Hoklas placing 5th and Matt Dettloff placing 6th. EIU also won the 4x800 relay with a time of 7:48.32.

Iowa leads the men's field in this scoring event with 38 points followed by Western Illinois and Augustana. EIU is fourth with 27 points despite only competing in two events on day one. No EIU women's competitors were in action on Friday evening.

The remainder of the EIU team will travel to Macomb for a full day of track action on Saturday.
