Boey 14th, Riebold 20th At NCAA Championships

DES MOINES, Iowa - Senior Zye Boey and sophomore Jade Riebold both competed on the opening day of the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track National Championships hosted by Drake University.

Boey placed 14th in the 100m with a time of 10.21.  Boey was fourth in his heat as the top two runners in each heat and next two best times advanced to Friday's finals.  Boey will compete in the 200m semifinals on Thursday night.

Riebold placed 20th in the pole vault at the National Championships as the sophomore cleared the opening height of 12'9.25".  She was unable to advance beyond that height.  She will return to action later this summer at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

EIU will continue competition at the NCAA Nationals with Boey running on Thursday in the 200m and Mick Viken competing in the pole vault on Friday.
