Tuesday Tweener Up Next For EIU Track

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois track and field will compete in a rare mid-week meet on Tuesday afternoon as the Panthers host the Tuesday Tweener at O'Brien Field at 1 p.m. The meet will consist of athletes from Eastern Illinois, Indiana State and other area schools that will not compete in this weekend's Drake Relays.
Entering the week EIU has six athletes that currently rank in the top 50 in the nation including senior Zye Boey who holds national top 25 rankings in both the 100m and 200m. Boey is currently ninth in the nation in the 200m after posting a 20.51 time at Vanderbilt. He is 24th in the 100m.
EIU has three athletes ranked nationally in the pole vault. Jade Riebold is ranked 16th on the women's side. Mick Viken and Joe Noonan represent the men in the top 50 with Viken ranked 10th and Noonan 42nd.
Donald Romero is 50th nationally in the weight throw while Megan Gingerich is 42nd in the women's 800m.
