Panther Men Sweep OVC Weekly Track Honors

Boey was named the OVC Male Track Athlete of the Week for the third time as he won the 60m and 200m dash at the Illinois Intercollegiate. Boey won his fourth straight 60m race of the season with a time of 6.70 which set the meet record. Boey is currently 17th in the nation in the 60m dash. In the 200m Boey clinched a spot in the NCAA Indoor National Championships with his time of 21.14 which set the Illinois Armory record. Boey is currently third in the NCAA in the 200m.
Viken was named the OVC Male Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this year as he won the pole vault at the Illinois Intercollegiate. Viken cleared 17'1" at the meet to tie the school record previously set by current EIU pole vault coach Kyle Ellis. Viken is currently ranked 19th in the NCAA.
EIU will return to action this weekend at the Notre Dame Meyo Invite. The EIU men moved up to 9th in the USTFCCCA Midwest Region rankings released on Tuesday morning.
