Men's Track Ranked 11th In Midwest Region

NEW ORLEANS – Eastern Illinois men’s track landed at No. 11 in the first USTFCCCA regional rankings of the season released on Tuesday morning. The Panthers compete in the Midwest Region which includes NCAA Division I schools from the states of Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma and South Dakota.
Eastern Illinois will compete in the Illinois Intercollegiate meet this weekend at the University of Illinois where they are scheduled to face the region’s No. 1 ranked team in Illinois and the No. 6 team in Southern Illinois.
Entering the weekend meet the Panthers currently have two athletes ranked in the nation’s Top 20 in individual events. Junior Zye Boey is currently ranked 8th in the nation in the 200m dash while redshirt freshman Mick Viken is ranked 17th in the pole vault.
