Gingerich Wins OVC Runner Of The Week Award

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Junior Megan Gingerich was named the Ohio Valley Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week following her performances over the weekend at the Lee Calhoun Classic hosted by Western Illinois. Gingerich helped the Panthers win the women’s team title with two first place finishes.

Gingerich won the 800m run with a time of 2:10.97. That mark moved the Arthur, Ill., native into fourth place on the EIU career list. Gingerich came back later in the day to run the final leg of the 4x400 relay that placed first with a winning time of 3:49.78. Both marks currently rank first in the OVC this season.

The Panthers return to action this weekend with a scheduled trip to the SIU Edwardsville meet.
