Panthers Wrap Up Drake Relay Performances

DES MOINES, Iowa - Eastern Illinois six athletes who traveled to the 99th annual Drake Relays concluded competition in four events on Saturday afternoon.

 

Jenna Uhe the lone EIU female athlete competed in the long jump and triple jump.  During the morning session she placed sixth in the long jump with a mark of 17'07".  In the afternoon she competed in the triple jump but failed to hit a distance.

 

Obe Eruteya competed in the triple jump on the men's side.  He placed 10th in the event with a jump of 48'06.25".

 

Chris Wesson, David Holm, Wes Sheldon and Justin Helpingstine all competed as part of the distance medley relay team.  They finished in 10th in the event with a time of 10:00.07.  On Friday night they placed fourth in the 4x800 relay.

 

The remainder of the EIU track and field squad was in action at SIU-Edwardsville all day Saturday.  The Panthers will travel to Cape Girardeau, Mo., next Friday and Saturday to defend their men's and women's Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track titles.
