Indoor Track Season Starts Friday

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois will get a start on the indoor track season prior to the Holiday Break as the Panthers host the EIU Early Bird on Friday evening at Lantz Indoor Fieldhouse. Following this meet EIU returns to action in late January with EIU Mega Meet on Jan. 24.

The meet starts at 4 p.m. with field events with the men’s weight throw and women’s long jump the opening events. The final schedule field events start at 5:30 p.m. with the pole vault and high jump.

Running events are scheduled to begin at 4:10 with the 60m hurdle prelims. The final running events of the day are slated for an 8:45 p.m. start in the 4x400 relay.

In addition to Eastern Illinois teams from Butler, Indiana State, St. Xavier and Western Illinois will be competing. The event will be a dual scoring meet.
