Eastern Illinois men's and women's cross country will send select runners to compete this Friday afternoon at the Illini Open set to take place at the UI Arboretum. The women's race will take place at 4 p.m. covering the 5K distance. The men's 8K race is scheduled to begin at 4:45 p.m.
Next Saturday, Oct. 29, Eastern Illinois will compete in the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in Nashville.
The EIU men placed fifth at last week's Bradley "Pink" Classic led by
Paxson Menard with a top ten finish. The Panther men were ranked 15th in this week's USTFCCCA Midwest Region poll. EIU is slated to send nine runners to the Illini Open.
Karson Hahn and
Austin Earp both posted personal bests last week competing in the Bradley Classic White Race.
The EIU women placed 15th last week at Bradley Classic with senior
Ruth Garippo setting the school record for the 6K. The Panthers are scheduled to send seven runners to the Illini Open. Junior
Caroline Collet posted her personal best in her last 5K race at the Notre Dame Invitational running in the Blue Race.
