Men's Track Adds Three To 2015-16 Roster

Luis Davila, Matt Goldby and Adam Kessler set to join Panthers next season

CHARLESTON, Ill. – Eastern Illinois men's track and field has added three athletes as part of the Panthers 2015-16 roster. Set to join the Panthers next season are Luis Davila, Matt Goldby and Adam Kessler. EIU won the men's Ohio Valley Conference Outdoor Track Championship last season and has already added athletes Juan Barajas, Michael Miller and Clayton Turner earlier this summer.

Davila competed at Jefferson High School in Rockford where he advanced to the IHSA Class 3A State Championships this past season in the 800m and as a member of the 4x400m relay team. He placed sixth in the 800m at the state meet with a finals time of 1:53.78. Davila was the Rockford Guilford Sectional Champion in the 800m with a time of 1:55.20.

Goldby competed at Jacobs High School in Algonquin where he advanced to the IHSA Class 3A State Championships this past season in the 800m and as a member of both the 4x400m and 4x800m relay squads. Goldby placed 12th in the state in the 800m with a finals time of 1:58.14. He was second in the Rockford Guilford Sectional 800m behind Davila posting a time of 1:55.70. His 4x800m relay team won the sectional title with a time of 7:57.34.

Kessler competed at Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing where he advanced to the IHSA Class 3A State Championships this past season in the shot put. He placed fourth in the state with a finals mark of 57'5.75". As a junior Kessler advanced to the IHSA Class 3A State Championships after winning the Flossmoor Sectional with a shot put throw of 51'6".
